Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Panther 56 and the Panther EX 56?
The Panther 56 is rated for diesel only. The Panther EX 56 carries ATEX II 2 G certification for petrol, kerosene, and other flammable liquids in Zone 1 / Zone 2 hazardous areas. Same pump architecture, hardened for hazardous service.
Is this the feet or drum version?
Feet version (F00580030). Comes with removable mounting feet for bolt-down installation. The drum version (F00580010 in Piusi's catalogue) ships with a drum connector and nozzle holder for IBC / 200L drum mounting - speak to us if that's what you need.
Why ATEX for diesel?
Diesel itself is not flagged as Zone 1, but if you're sharing a yard, workshop, or storage area with petrol or other flammable hydrocarbons, your hazardous-area classification may require ATEX-certified equipment across the whole installation. Many WHS-conscious sites standardise on ATEX as a future-proofing measure.
Does it run continuously or have a duty cycle?
Continuous duty (S1). You can run it back-to-back for shift-long fills without thermal cut-out, unlike the Cube cabinet dispensers which have a 30-minute on/off cycle.
What flow meter pairs with it?
For ATEX-compliant metering, pair with the Piusi K600 ATEX or K33 ATEX mechanical meter. Non-ATEX meters cannot legally be used in the same Zone 1 installation.
Does it come with a nozzle and hose?
No - this is the pump-only version. Speak to us about matched ATEX-rated nozzles, hoses, and suction kits to build a complete petrol or diesel transfer station.
